Recycled Christmas trees can become very effective and entertaining suet feeders. In the Spring our Christmas tree that was put in the yard for bird security is trimmed of all branches and cut into sections about 14 in. long. These sections become the Suet Log Feeder. The following photos illustrate the process for making a suet log feeder:.
1. Christmas Tree
2. Hand saw
3. Electric drill with 1-1/4" and 1" wood boring bits
4. Wire mesh: 1/4"
5. Wire cutters
6. Small broad head nails or tacks and 1 eyehole screw
