Avian Residence - Huntville Botanical Garden

Many bird families have taken up residence in the Garden’s housing project. Of the thirty six bluebird houses installed throughout the Garden, thirteen are occupied this season.

The residence include nests of  Tree Swallows (2), Eastern Bluebirds (6), Carolina Wrens (4), and House Finch (1).  Several young Bluebirds in the South Meadow have already fledged the nest and may be seen being fed insects by the parents.  Young Tree Swallows should be fledging and feeding in the North Meadow within two weeks. An early morning walk along the Birding Trail offers the joy of seeing many bird families nurturing their young.
